NEW PROGRAM Starting January 16, 2008!
Independent Living Assistance Program (ILAP) currently only for Sacramento County residents. Housing Now has entered into a new contract with Sacramento Employment and Training Agency to provide the following services for persons with developmental disabilities:
- Eviction avoidance
- Utility cut off prevention or hook-up fees
- Emergency motel vouchers

Renter’s Rights
The new 60-day notice to terminate tenancy takes effect January 1, 2007.
As of that date, with some exceptions, when an owner/agent wants to
terminate a tenancy for any resident(s) who have resided on the property
for one year or longer, the owner must provide a 60-day notice of termination.
This new statute provides that if a new roommate moves in with the initial
tenant(s), the one-year clock starts anew.
AB 2634 Lieber
This measure requires every housing element to include the housing needs
of extremely low-income households. Most jurisdictions in the ten counties served by Housing Now are working on their Housing Element. This is a state law that they all need to update the Housing Element every five years. For more information call 916-454-4005 or see this PDF document.
