Resource List

Housing Resources on the Web

Need Housing? There are housing authorities in most of the ten counties served by the Alta California regional Center. Jump down to the counties list. These housing authorities operate under federal guidelines from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to provide both public housing and the rental subsidy assistance program more commonly known as section 8. Please refer to the information for the county you are interested in for local housing authority contact information.

To locate affordable housing opportunities in your area go to HUD's People with Disabilities page. HUD lists properties that have apartments at below market rate. If you go to the Resources page at Sacramento Housing Alliance, there will be properties listed that are provided by non-profit housing developers, at below market rate rent.

If you are on a housing list, it is important that you keep your contact information current with that agency. Many of the apartment complexes have long lists. You should not be discouraged by this; it will be worth the wait if in the future you get help with your rent.
